Prof. Dr. Ahmet Erdem
He was born in 1963 in Ankara. He completed his secondary and high school education at Ankara Atatürk Anatolian High School and began his medical education at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1981. He graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1987. In the same year, he started his residency in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine. He became a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1992. Between 1993 and 1996, he completed his compulsory service at Samsun Maternity Hospital. In 1996, he started working as a specialist doctor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Gazi University. In 1998, he began working in the field of IVF and took part in the founding team of the Gazi IVF Center. He received the title of Associate Professor in 2003 and became a Professor in 2009. Since 1998, he has been actively conducting infertility and IVF treatments.
Prof. Dr. Ahmet Erdem’s academic interests include Assisted Reproductive Techniques (IVF, insemination) in particular, as well as gynecological endocrinology (polycystic ovary syndrome, menopause, reproductive hormone disorders), endoscopic surgery, endometriosis, multiple and high-risk pregnancies. He has numerous scientific publications in reputable international journals on these subjects. He is also a member of the “American Society of Reproductive Medicine”, “European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology”, “American Association of Gynecological Laparoscopy”, and the national “Turkish Society of Reproductive Medicine”.
Prof. Dr. Ahmet Erdem is married and has two children.
